After missing out on Michael Bradley to Toronto this week, a report from Brazil this evening are saying Fulham have turned their interest to Brazilian midfielder, Jucilei. The 6'1" defensive midfielder is currently the captain with Anzhi but is looking to leave in the January window with the club looking for EU 5 million to secure his signature.
Along with Fulham, Napoli, Sao Paulo and Corinthians have all expressed their interest in signing the Brazilian who has made 21 appearances for Anzhi across all competitions so far this season.
One point that might scupper any deal is that he has only made 2 appearances for the Brazilian 1st team since 2010. With the rules stipulating that any non EU player must have played in 75% of the games for the national team over the last 3 years, this could be an issue. You can appeal for a work permit but with so few appearances for his national team, it would be a tough case to argue that the permit should be issued.
The player himself has said he's happy to stay in Europe and would asses all offers before making a decision.
